- Advise clients, energy majors, utilities and governments on energy storage systems, renewable energy integration and project development strategy
- Assess project specifications, storage needs and grid requirements to propose the best BESS configurations
- Assess the technical capability and reliability of potential BESS suppliers, and work with procurement teams to define technical specifications, evaluate bids and select equipment and technologies
- Evaluate electrical system design, protection schemes and interconnection requirements, including grid stabilisation and backup power
- Perform simulation and modelling to predict system performance and optimise design
- Define KPIs and data acquisition systems to monitor storage efficiency, response times and system availability, then analyse performance data to assess system health and recommend maintenance or operational improvements
- Develop project schedules, budgets and resource plans, and manage risks and technical issues with project teams
- Perform on-site inspections of BESS components, installations and interconnections, and develop quality control plans, inspection checklists and acceptance criteria
