The Ultraviolette VX-100 is a new 100V architecture for the company’s electric two-wheelers, introduced alongside the X-47 Venom as the first model built on it. VX-100 combines an SRB-11 battery pack, the UV LIGHTFURY motor and a next-generation motor control unit, and the company plans four new products on it over the next year. Ultraviolette says the platform is certified for India and 20 European countries, and the Venom debuts in Europe at EICMA in Milan on November 3.
How the Ultraviolette VX-100 is built
The Ultraviolette VX-100 offers two 100V battery packs, the 11 kWh SRB-11 and the 7.5 kWh SRB-7.5. Ultraviolette’s launch release credits the SRB-11 with up to 20 per cent greater energy density and twice the cooling performance, and says its thermal management path dissipates heat up to 50 per cent faster.
Both packs sit in an all-aluminium IP67-rated enclosure, and the battery management system adds a six-level safety scheme covering mechanical, thermal, electrical, electronic and software protection plus a pyro-fuse. The Venom also supports 12 kW DC fast charging, which Ultraviolette says no other electric two-wheeler in India offers.
On the motor side, the UV LIGHTFURY delivers 30 kW (40 hp) of peak power and 90 Nm of peak torque, with 550 Nm of torque at the rear wheel. Ultraviolette designed it for higher power density, lower mass and reduced energy losses, and says the battery, motor and motor control unit work together to improve power delivery, efficiency and thermal performance.
X-47 Venom variants on the VX-100 platform
Those components come together in the X-47 Venom, the first model on the Ultraviolette VX-100 and a crossover motorcycle that reaches 155 km/h and covers 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Range depends on the pack, at 227 km IDC with the 7.5 kWh unit and 343 km with the 11 kWh unit, while kerb weight runs to 180 kg and 195 kg respectively, and Ultraviolette says the 180 kg figure is up to 20 kg below the previous generation.
The Venom comes in four variants, with the X-47 and X-47+ on the 7.5 kWh pack and the Recon and Recon+ on the 11 kWh pack. Plus versions add a 1.6 kW on-board charger, and both Recon variants offer the UV HyperSense 77 GHz radar for rear collision warning, lane change assist, overtake alert and blind spot detection. Bookings opened on October 22 at an introductory price of ₹2.65 lakh for the first 5,000 customers, with deliveries in India due to begin in November.
The models that follow the X-47 Venom
Next on the platform are the Tesseract scooter and Shockwave motorcycle, both redesigned around the 100V architecture. The move had already pushed back the Tesseract’s launch, since it required changes to its battery, controller, battery management and charging systems, and both models are now due in the first quarter of 2027.
