Location: Huber USA Inc., North Carolina, USA

Capabilities: Testing, Thermal management

Huber USA Inc. is the North American subsidiary of Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau SE, the Offenburg, Germany company founded in 1968 that supplies high-precision temperature control solutions for research and industry. The Huber USA temperature control range covers dynamic temperature control systems, chillers, heating and cooling circulators and baths from -125 to +425 °C, with customised solutions available for specific applications. For the automotive sector, Huber’s solutions cover battery testing, material testing, quality control and temperature-dependent stress and load tests on transmissions, bearings and engine parts. Huber USA supports customers across North America with advice on selecting suitable systems, technical design and integration into existing processes, as well as service, maintenance and spare parts.

Temperature control systems

The Unimotive series is designed for automotive applications and runs on water-ethylene glycol mixtures with corrosion protection down to -45 °C, covering temperature simulation, material tests and temperature-dependent stress and load tests on batteries, automotive parts and functional components. Unistat dynamic systems allow extremely fast temperature changes for cyclic testing, and Huber units also temper pump test benches and gear oil tests, where precise temperature control supports measurement accuracy and reproducibility.

Chillers, circulators and compact units

Unistat systems are available down to -45 °C, -60 °C and -120 °C and up to +425 °C. Chillers run up to 2.5 kW, 10 kW and 80 kW, alongside heat exchanger systems, heating and cooling circulators, baths and heat transfer fluids. Compact options include the Piccolo Peltier cooler (4 to 70 °C) and the Chili heating circulator (65 to 300 °C), and the Minichiller series suits installation in photovoltaic systems to cool components such as inverters and transformers.

Natural refrigerants and custom solutions

Huber’s temperature control range uses natural refrigerants as standard, selecting R290 (propane) or R744 (CO2) according to power range, application and operating temperature. The Unimotive Green Line brings CO2 refrigerant to high-performance systems for the automotive industry. Huber also builds customised heating and cooling solutions for OEM partners, machine builders and system suppliers, including heat exchangers, sensor options and automation.
