MTCONNECTIVITY
Location: Niedernhall, Deutschland
Capabilities: Cables & connectors
MTCONNECTIVITY press-fit technology covers power elements, power spacers, connectors and press-in tools for printed circuit boards, backed by consulting and training for engineering teams. The company’s pitch to designers is direct. Where a connection would normally be screwed, MTCON offers one that is pressed in.
Power elements and connectors
The power element range comes in press-fit, SMD and THT versions for high-performance connections. The Power Tower is a power connection element with external and internal threads from M3 to M12 and is RadSok compatible, while the Power Edge joins a high-power relay to the board mechanically and electrically using two angled power elements at a defined distance. The Power Protector guards against short circuits where cable lugs on neighbouring power elements could touch. MTCON’s power spacers are designed to give stable current distribution.
Connectors are available in press-fit and THT versions. The JPT series offers press-fit board-to-wire connectors that combine with commercially available connector products, and MTCON lists a JPT connector compatible with TE products. Fuse holders cover ATO, Mini and Maxi fuses. Press-in tools, a Sample Box and a product catalogue round out the range, and the catalogue also lists precote high-strength thread locker for Power Tower and Power Socket connections.
Consulting and training for press-fit design
MTCON provides consulting and training on press-fit technology and PCBs. The MTCONNECTIVITY press-fit training packages run from base knowledge to expert level, and a separate circuit board package covers manufacturing basics and designs for high current technology. Consulting support spans management, development, layout, project and product management, manufacturing, quality control, purchasing and distribution, and MTCON creates manufacturing-ready CAD layouts for PCBs from a customer’s templates.
MTCON illustrates its power elements with a central electrical circuit board built for a cold milling machine, a construction machinery application where the assembly is designed for reliability and longevity under tough conditions. The company is based in Southern Germany and serves customers throughout Europe.
