Peak Nano

Location: Ohio, United States

Capabilities: Charging stations, Inverters, Power electronics

Peak Nano is an advanced materials company developing nanolayered dielectric films for power electronics in electrified transport and energy infrastructure. Founded in 2016 and built on more than a decade of collaborative research with Case Western Reserve University, DARPA and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, Peak Nano develops NanoPlex™, a proprietary nanolayered materials platform protected by 20+ patents.

Peak Nano’s NanoPlex™ LDF (low dissipation factor) capacitor films are aimed at 800-900 V SiC traction inverters, DC-link capacitors and DC fast-charging systems, where thermal headroom and low losses matter most. The films maintain full capacitance at 135°C without derating, with lower dissipation factor and longer service life than conventional BOPP film, which can allow smaller, lighter power-conversion systems with reduced cooling requirements. Peak Nano also works with capacitor manufacturer Advanced Conversion on DC-link solutions for high-voltage e-mobility, electrified aviation and charging infrastructure.

Engineered and manufactured in the U.S., with supply chains sourced from allied nations, Peak Nano’s films help reduce reliance on foreign suppliers for a critical component of next-generation electrified transport and charging infrastructure.
